MURASAKIKAMON is a series of reddish-purple colored ware decorated with uniquely formulated clay and glaze. This bowl is one of the most gorgeous wares in the series. The potter's clay is stretched into a string shape and joined to the bowl. The molding process is time-consuming and complicated, so there is a risk of deformation or cracking during firing. Kyoto ceramic artist, Mr. Morisato Toraku, has inherited the Mishimade technique from generation to generation. His unique sensibility led him to create this unique ware. The countless Mishima patterns and intricate molding are symbolic design. This elegant ware will express the elegance culture of Kyoto. The gorgeous floral design is created by an old technique called Mishimade. The technique, which was introduced from the Joseon Dynasty, is a technique in which a stamp is pressed on the molded ceramic clay to create the pattern. The technique was also used in the Kocuri tea bowls that have been loved by tea masters since ancient times. Kocuri tea bowls, which are regarded as a representative example of wabi(Japanese Spiritual Culture), are originally made in a gray or yellow color. On the other hand, MURASAKIKAMON is gorgeous with gold and white glaze.
