Kyoto ceramist Mr, Kimura Moriyasu is a world-renowned master of tenmoku glaze. "TENKŪ" is a symbolic work of "Moriyasu Tenmoku". The white glaze flowing over the deep black glaze is a distinctive feature of this piece. The white glaze of the sky is reminiscent of clouds flowing in the sky or stars twinkling in the galaxy. Like the crystals, the flowing white glaze is a naturally formed pattern. All are one of a kind While many tenmoku artists aim for the national treasure "yohen tenmoku," Moriyasu continues to pursue his own unique style of tenmoku, which is different from other tenmoku artists. For this reason, his Tenmoku works are affectionately known as "Moriyasu Tenmoku”. It can be said that Mr. Kimura's inquisitiveness, daily study, and single-minded approach to pottery making have brought about the originality and deep, mysterious crystals known as "Moriyasu Tenmoku”. The ever-changing forms expressed in his numerous pieces of "Moriyasu Tenmoku" have been highly acclaimed not only in Japan, but also internationally.
