明治3年、清水寺門前にて創業。「京焼・清水焼」の専門店として商いをして参りました。時代の流れとともに、清水焼に留まらず全国各地の陶磁器、及び漆器、鉄器、切子細工など、日本を代表する伝統工芸品を幅広く揃える店へと姿を変えております。
近年、若手作家やカジュアルな陶器、伝統工芸品の発信の場として、6つの施設からなる「あさひ坂」を設立。年々減っている窯元や伝統工芸品を盛り上げ、伝統を支えていく役割を担っていきたいと考えております。
また、海外から多くの観光客を迎える京都で、日本の繊細で緻密なものづくりを海外へ発信していくことも私どもの役目だと捉え、精進して参ります。
